2023 Social Metaphysics Workshop

About
The 4th annual Social Metaphysics Workshop will be held from May 31st to June 3rd, 2023 at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina (in person). The topic of the workshop is social metaphysics, broadly conceived. The keynote speakers will be Sara Bernstein and Ásta.

Workshop format: The workshop will be primarily pre-read. There will be eight sessions in total. Aside from the keynote, each session will have one speaker and two commentators. All workshop participants will be expected to read the papers in advance of the workshop. The workshop is only open to selected participants and Duke-affiliated students and faculty.

Organizers
Kevin Richardson is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Duke University. He currently works at the intersection of metaphysics, philosophy of language, and social philosophy. 

Asya Passinsky is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Central European University in Vienna. Her main areas of research are metaphysics, social philosophy, and feminist philosophy.
